Due Diligence Checking for Members

2017-10-05T10:49:51+00:000000005131201710 in LCSP News

This facility is now available for LCSP Register Members to apply directly for a disclosure. These disclosures are becoming far more widely asked for in so many different situations. It is now becoming normal and usual for care homes, children’s facilities and municipal facilities, the very places that a lot of our members have to work to insist that the therapist does have a current DBS disclosure. Many other therapists even just in private practice and clinics consider having a disclosure just part of ‘good practice’ for a health care professional. To apply for a DBS Disclosure the details and procedures are on noticeboard in the members section of the website.

LCSP Annual General Meeting

2015-12-15T16:35:59+00:000000005931201512 in Courses, LCSP News

john sharkeyAGM will be held on Saturday June 25th 2016. It was very apparent from the massive positive feedback we received from the last visit of John Sharkey that not only did you want him to return but you wished for more time for him to expand on his work and even to allow for hands on time also.

Well it has been arranged, despite John Sharkey only arriving back from an extended lecture tour in Australia in June he has agreed to come directly back to the LCSP and present again, only this time to accommodate the requests there will be an full extra day to allow for practical work and demonstrations. If you are interested then you will have to book early as this event will sell out. Those members who were fortunate enough to hear him in June of this year will be only too aware of how interesting, refreshing and innovative his ideas are backed up with research.

John will be presenting on the Saturday afternoon and then again all day on the Sunday. This will also include some practical activity. So book the dates in your diary now and if you wish to attend I would advise you to book NOW as this opportunity will sell out, there is a strictly limited number of places available and there has already been interest shown by other organisations asking if I can release space to their members.

For more information and to reserve your place please click here

Caradoc online shop

2015-05-19T09:17:10+00:000000001031201505 in LCSP News

CARADOC-SHROPDOC-32Massage and soft tissue therapy practitioners can now access a one-stop online shop selling core products at discounted rates.

LCSP Register is a member of buying consortium Caradoc Medical Services, meaning practitioners can access the savings from consortium suppliers.

Caradoc is a not-for-profit organisation and it is free to join the buying group with no membership fees. The consortium started off supporting GP practices but was keen to widen membership and saw opportunities to support therapists.

Suppliers cover a wide range of products and services including stationery, medical consumables, uniforms, telephony solutions, HR and employment support and much more.

The Caradoc Shop focuses on key products under three categories – medical supplies and equipment, stationery and office supplies and treatment room and janitorial supplies.

It is aimed at sole practitioners and small businesses and members that cannot find what they are looking for in the shop can contact one of over 80 Caradoc suppliers for further assistance.

Peter Masters, of Caradoc Medical Services, said: “For practitioners who are self-employed or who own a very small practice, essential supplies and equipment for the treatment room can be very costly. As Caradoc is a consortium we are able to use a collective buying power to bring down costs on key items required by LCSP members. And because we have many practitioners as members we decided to create a specific online shop via our website so that it is easily accessible.”

The online shop is a pilot scheme by Caradoc Medical Services and feedback from members is encouraged to ensure that changes can be made to ensure the service is as useful as it can be to members. The Caradoc Shop can be found here
