General consensus of opinion is that the new site is a squillion times better than the old! The on-line directory is proving successful with members of the public being easily able to access required therapists. The members section is accessed by using your 4 digit LCSP membership number.
For the time being any important and relevant information will be posted in the ‘Members Forum’ section rather than the noticeboard.

Insurance Renewals:

At the time of going to press the final negotiations were not completed, so I cannot give you the finer details in this newsletter. However as soon as they are known, agreed and signed off, I will place this information into the ‘Members Forum’ section of the website for your information. Details regarding Insurance renewal payments will be coming to you directly from Three Counties Insurance.

AGM/Conference: 20/21st May 2006 Venue:

St. Nicholas Hotel, Scarborough.
Please make an effort to attend the AGM and Conference. It is an ideal opportunity to renew and refresh with colleagues old and new, also you can find out first hand the next developments of the Register.

Welfare officer:

This position has been admirably filled for the last year by Mr. George Kendall of Hull. His role as the title suggests is one of support for members in difficult situations, distress, or even those who just need an impartial listening ear.
My grateful thanks along with those of the President and Council go to George who has already assisted several members this year. We are by virtue of our training and roots an ‘extended family’ and I think it is only right and proper that we have in place some mechanism of assistance for members who, for whatever reason, may be in situations of misfortune. If you wish to contact George Kendall or are aware of a member who may require or benefit from contact, he is available directly at:
2 Sailors Wharf, Victoria Dock, Hull. HU9 1UJ Tel: 01482 322170

With Regret.

It is with regret that I report on the passing of Mr.Ashley Turner,of Hastings, East Sussex. Ashley had been a loyal member of the LCSP since 1987. Our thoughts are with his wife and family on their sad loss.

There is still protracted correspondence going on with Yell with regard to a separate Remedial Massage heading. The present policy they have is not to have any heading with ‘Massage’ because it attracts dubious contacts. I have on behalf of the Register applied also for a ‘Manipulative Therapy’ heading and this request is due to be put before the Yell classification board sometime in the New Year.
I will update this information as and when it becomes available.

Finally, Fozzy’s foot note, I personally wish each and every one of you all the very best for 2006, stay happy and healthy and keep in touch.
