Renewals for membership and Insurance – by now all members should have renewed both these items, as I’m sure you are aware the insurance industry now have a ‘no days of grace’ policy, so to safeguard yourself it is vitally important to maintain the integrity of both your membership subscription and insurance cover and these two are intrinsically linked as you cannot get the significantly reduced insurance cover without your LCSP Register membership.

Help us to help you – by keeping us posted if you change any of your contact details, when we send out updates and details electronically it is surprising how many are returned as undeliverable and only when an annual renewal is completed is it noticed that an e-mail address has been changed. It is your best interest to keep us in the information loop, so that we might do the same for you.

This is a free event with CPD certification. Full details are on the members forum of the website or contact the office if you wish to attend.
Diary date : Regional Meeting in Edinburgh  Friday 8th October 2010 taking place at The George Hotel, 19-21 George Street, Edinburgh EH2 2PB.

CPD Reviews:  The next random assessment of CPD portfolios will take place at the end of this year, so please do take the time to record your CPD activities and maintain your portfolios. It must be mentioned that the previous assessment did find some members lacking in some areas of their CPD, more particularly in the ‘hands on’ aspect of ongoing training. These members have been offered and accepted mentoring and appropriate advice to bring them up to the standard required of the Register.

Insurance Awareness:  These are some of the common situations that are often open to misinterpretation and could be costly.
If you provide any domiciliary treatments have you notified your car insurance provider that your vehicle is used for business purpose?
If you work from home does your home insurance provider know?
In the event of an electrical fire could you provide a current PAT (Portable Appliance Test) certificate to your insurers?
If the answer to any of the above questions is ‘No’, then you could face the possibility of your insurance company stepping back and not paying out for a claim made.
If you have any questions or concerns then please feel free to contact the admin office, Gareth at Three Counties or your own insurance provider.
